One feature many people are not aware is to monitor ANY other printer and convert its print jobs into PDF documents. That can be important if someone decides to retire a physical printer but cannot re-configure the comple network. Another use is to configure one printer with letterhead/watermark and one printer without.
The requirement for a printer to be monitored is very easy to configure. The alternative printer has to be on “paused” AND the printers Print Processor has to configured as winprint with any NT EMF Data type.

The next step would be to configure Aloaha to monitor the printer to convert its spool jobs to PDF. You just need to go into the Aloaha settings and choose the Print Settings Tab. The first drop down list “Printer to monitor” lists all printers configured as paused, winprint and NT EMF. Here you now choose your previously configured printer. In this example a HP Business Inkjet.
Please note that you need to restart Aloaha (or simply log off and logon) to activate this setting!
